BEN HORMELL, CO-FOUNDER

Ben leads strategy and business development at Arc5 energy. His experience is rooted in strategy and innovation. Ben brings his years of sector disruption to create new business models at the intersection of natural gas and crypto mining. Prior to founding Arc5 Energy, Ben leveraged a team of technologists and creatives to help clients solve complex business issues through the design of co-creation experiences that focus on accelerating change in transformation programs like strategy formulation and alignment, customer experience design, IT System Transformation. Ben spent 16 years at PwC working as a management consultant in their Advisory line of service, specializing in operational consulting for the technology and entertainment sectors. He has Oil and Gas experience focused on digitizing the oil field. Most recently, Ben led the design of a global innovation center focused on showcasing how technology and innovation is transforming the future of work.

ED KEENAN | MANUFACTURING

Ed has over 30 years experience in the design, manufacturing and operating of mobile technology in industrial applications. He has delivered value through roles in research and development, prototyping, process design/control, electrical instrumentation and QA/QC testing. He has built mobile solutions for oil and gas water management and has managed the deployment of advanced thermal soil remediation units around the globe. He has worked for large and small companies including Occidental Chemical and Hydrozonix.

MARCUS KEENAN | TECHNOLOGY

Marcus operates across the full stack of industrial controls, IOT, operational intelligence and platform development. Most recently, Marcus designed and created an automated performance management and monitoring solution from sensor selection to user interface for a leading oil and gas mobile water treatment company. In prior positions he has developed software and hardware solutions including artificial intelligence and machine learning functionality. Over the course of his career, Marcus has worked with Stanford, SLAC National Accelerator Lab, DOE, Microsoft, and Hydrozonix. Programming language skills include: JavaScript, C++, C#, Python, SQL, HTML, CSS.

JOHN HORMELL | NATURAL GAS INDUSTRY

John brings his 30 years of experience in natural gas to Arc5 Energy to advise on natural gas futures, deal viability and structuring. John has developed a wealth of knowledge over his career at DTE Energy Trading, Repsol, BP Energy and Sonat Energy.

BRANNIN MCBEE - DATA CENTER / MINING

Founder and CSO of Core Weave which provides modern cloud infrastructure empowering creators and innovators with the GPU resources they need. Brannin brings energy expertise with the crypto ecosystem and deep mining experience to advise Arc5 Energy

MIKE HORMELL, CO-FOUNDER

Mike leverages an extensive career in power, oil and gas, utilities, renewables and technology to lead Arc5 Energy. He leans on a wide range of executive, advisory, investing and practical problem-solving experience to deliver outcomes that work. Before Arc5, he helped an AI enterprise software company acquire energy customers and close a Series A financing. In the years prior, Mike launched, scaled and exited an oil and gas water management company. Mike also helped a B2B marketing software company build its organization, develop accounts in energy and close a Series B financing. Earlier in his career, Mike spent 20 years in the energy, environment, and risk practices of a London based management consulting firm, working with 200+ companies on operational improvement, data/analytics, financial restructuring, and customer experience. Mike and his family of four are outdoor enthusiasts and explore the trails and slopes in the Rockies as often as possible.

WILLIAM KOMP - DATA SCIENCE

William  has created transportation optimization solutions and systems to optimize mobile asset performance. He has architected and developed an enterprise scale omnichannel backend marketing platform. William has utilized cross-disciplinary skills to bring predictive analytics models into optimized marketing campaigns. He has also worked on cross platform health insurance analytics, including member segmentation, financial forecasting and provider submission data. He is a former professor of theoretical and mathematical physics and has also served in various senior data science roles for Humana and others.

RICK BIZENZA - MINING ENGINEERING

Rick builds, operates and optimizes cryptocurrency mining rigs. He manages a portfolio of high market cap cryptocurrencies including: Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin. He has designed, installed and operated a wide spectrum of mining assets focused primarily on proof of work coins. He understands mining operations as well as crypto trading strategies and governance.

GEORGE CHUANG | CRYPTOFINANCE

Co-Founder of Lucy Labs, Inc. George has been involved in cryptocurrency since 2016. Lucy Labs is Arc5 Energy’s cyrptocurrency treasury management partner. George is an experienced executive in financial services and private equity.

STEPHEN JOHNSON - OIL & GAS INNOVATOR

A seasoned oilfield executive and entrepreneur with over 45 years of diversified experience including leadership roles in three PE start-ups. Awarded Ernst & Young Gulf Coast Entrepreneur of the year 2020. Held executive positions with WaterBridge, Nabors, Stonegate, CDX, and BP-Amoco.
